I really love my Simplex + and was hoping for two other-size coils that are needed for trashier environments. Those would be a 5" DD and a 7" Concentric. A 9" diameter round-shaped coil is too big, in my opinion, for a lot of the hunting folks do. That's especially true here in the USA where urban Coin Hunters encounter a lot of trash around picnic areas, sports fields and many other places. Ghost towns and other densely iron contaminated sites are almost a must-have location for something like a 5" DD.
A 5X9½ DD open-frame coil, like I use on the CoRe and relic, is an OK size and type coil. I consider it a 'mid-sized' coil and not a smaller-size coil. I have no use for a 9" round anything. A round 7" Concentric coil would be great, but a 5" DD I really need. If they brought out a 5" DD and 7" Concentric, I could easily justify buying a 2nd Simplex + and keeping each of those coils mounted full-time. Even a 5' DD on one and a 5X9½ DD on another would work well for me if there wasn't a 7" Concentric. But a 5" DD? An absolute must-have coil for serious hunting needs. I'll hold out hope for one.
