The Mini and Midi to help bring younger kids and a little bit older kids into this great sport. I'll be glad to get all the specifications from Nokta / Makro because some websites have different info. One says 7 kHz and another says 15 kHz. The Mini, using the goofy images that younger kids might like is an interesting approach, but the Midi has more 'normal' target description segments which should help transition the older kids to adult-style detectors quite easily.
And if they are powered by 2-AA alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries, that will also keep them affordable and maybe more 'in-use' by kids. I do wish the arm cup was a different design and a bit more 'cupped' or taller for their arms, but we'll have to see how they feel when released. And just when I figured I was about done buying detectors for a while, it now looks like I might be getting one to have on-hand for some of the youngest grandkids.
Hopefully they will be available soon.
