I'd just been home from the hospital a few days and am still slowly hoping for more progress. I remember reading your post, but just didn't have the
oomph! to do much posting. Sorry.
I hardly ever use Park 2, preferring Park 1 in trashier areas, then either Beach or Field modes in lower trash areas, or when dealing mainly with Iron-type debris. I don't knock out any of the Disc. mode segments except just the 1st segment in the Beach mode. The other modes have Iron Audio Volume so I simply relay on a low-level setting so ferrous debris isn't loud. Knocking out the 1st segment in the Beach mode
(or any mode) usually rejects almost all Iron nails.
Yes, the Simplex + is 'different' from the Apex, and I mainly have my Simplex + for wetter weather days, like a possible shower or a summer thunderstorm before I can hobble back to my vehicle, and also for beach hunting. Most of that is freshwater, but wet-is-wet and if I fall or drop the Simplex +, all should be fine. At least for the detector.
I still favor my Apex devices for most of my hunting needs, or plan to when springtime gets here. Have you had an opportunity to get out with the Simplex + this past month? Results and thoughts?
