All nokta/makro little coil are like that. The good thing is nokta/makro made extremely heavy duty coil ears on the legend coils. You can really crank them down so they don't move without worrying about them breaking.
Those that are ±5" in diameter are more rear-positioned. But the new 6" DD is an additional 1" in diameter, or a 20% increase in diameter, and that makes it 'look' a bit more imbalanced. They could still put the rod mount closer to the center.

I cant say this for sure, just because I haven't been able to get out much yet. I can guarantee you that the legend W/6" coil and SMF will definitely give our old sites a different look with the advantage of the SMF tech. The Legend is fast, fast, with adjustable recovery speed. IF EMI is a issue its still a smoking performing machine with single freq. With all that being said is almost impossible for the legend not to have an advantage over say a racer2, or Core.
Yes, The Legend circuitry plus the new 6" DD coil will give those old sites
"a different look". The SMF thing will as well, but it might not be the greatest look. SMF designs can do a few things, but they do not do all things well, and they can fall short of a good Single Frequency detector, or a Selectable Single-Frequency that most SMF's offer. I can show that easily with the Apex, for example.

Some major audio options with Legend. Major upgrade I would say yes. The wireless headphones alone are high quality. Probably the best bluetooth on market being sold by detector manufacturers today. IF your stuck on the old analog style tones then maybe legend is not for you. I like to use so many different detectors I cant notice the difference hardly in the audio. I also don't have hearing loss, and try not to focus on the small differences in audio and put more of my focus on performance differences. I understand the need for good audio that is easy on the ears, kinda like how some like the S shafts better then Straight shafts.
We have had a lot of detectors that were / are more of a Digital / Analog 'blend' such as the XLT or MXT Pro, and you can include the T2 and F75's and several more. Some start to lean a little more toward the more processed type 'digital' audio that is not very pleasant to my hearing. It isn't just the
"analog world" but what manufacturers are doing with today's detector circuitry designs, especially with more incorporation of waterproof speakers, too. Yes, I have impaired hearing, but I know many people who have very good hearing but do not like many of the newer detectors the last few years.
No doubt Nokta / Makro will end up with a very good detector, but there have been and are a lot of "very good" detectors for folks to choose from, and I ought to know because I have several. From N/M and others.
