D&P-ORYou boys could end all this detector "fussin" by just getting a Deus 2!-----That's all yah need (Monte)!
I thought about it and had a order in, however I rethought everything and while in the hospital for a month-and-half in Texas I decided to cancel it. I had detectors that did what I wanted without fiddling all the time with buttons. I had plans to add one or two new-to-me detectors for what I would be doing, mainly urban Coin Hunting, if my health improved.
It took 4½ months before I could manage to use a cane for a brief and struggling 15 to 20 minutes of detecting on level ground. I had hopes by then, the end of April, that I could be more mobile by the WTHO in June. However, I remember unpacking in my new home in Utah on May 6th, but the next thing I new was I woke up briefly May 10th in the evening, then gained full consciousness at 4 AM on the 11th and realized I was in the hospital ... again. I was hurried there in a diabetic coma and also had a stroke. The doctor I saw early this month looked at the computer and said I might have had two strokes, one on each side.
Here it is, June 18th, so two months later I can barely use a cane for a very short travel, like into the garage to my scooter. I am working on it and trying to get mobile enough I can hunt a little on our 15th WTHO in September, but otherwise I use my big scooter on the road/sidewalk to go to Maverick, McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc., and I just bought a smaller mobility scooter on Friday to get around in Walmart, big grocery stores and the like. I have my walker I use most of the time around the house, trying to work in the cane when I can, and I'm sitting in my wheelchair here in my den at the computer.
I have complete eye exams on Aug. 10 and then I can find out what, if anything, they can do for my eyes, but until then I can't drive. I rely on my oldest and sometimes youngest sons to get me around. That limits me just taking off to go detect, and with my eyes going and my mobility issues, I decided I am nearing the end of my opportunities to go detecting. Instead of buying a complex, button-pushing Deus 2, I am going to start thinning out my personal detectors. Still trying to get some mobility back to use some favorite and light-weight models
(five of them), but I'll know in a few months how close to 'the end' I am for detecting.
