The update version I am using is 1.08.
After a lot of bench testing, spent lots of time custom programming the audio tones, breaks, frequencies to what my ears hear the best.
Then started adjusting other settings to favor gold and Canadian clad. saved it to a profile.
Today, later this afternoon, headed over to my favorite school's sports field. The inground sprinklers and the rain made for a perfect
moisture content in the soil.
Headed out into the field, there was a pleasant breeze blowing. Thank goodness for the breeze, otherwise the high humidity, the high temperature and blaring sunshine, would have cut my hunt short. Placed the headphones over my ears, turned on the Legend, ground balanced the 6" search coil, off I went.
The goal for to day was to dig all signals, even iffy ones. Wasn't sure how my left knee would handle that, lots of up and downs. I dug and dug and dug some more targets. The 6" search coil, pinpoints super accurate, right in the coil's center. After swinging for 3 1/2 hours, dug a ton of targets, most were of the common junk type. Hunted by sound and did pay attention to the ID numbers to become used to what the detector indicates what the target may be. Did find a nice handful of Canadian clad coins. Also found, my left knee could take the punishment of the ups and downs.
I haven't dumped the bag-o-stuff out yet to tally my finds, will do that in the next day and post some pix.
Had a great time with my new profile programming set-up. The Legend was so much more enjoyable to use.....just about became one with it after the first 20 minutes. Hmmm, maybe enough to part with one other detector in my arsenal. Time will tell.
Stay tuned.
