With my Nokta & Makro models, the Racer, Racer 2 and FORS Relic, are all 'saved' to turn-on in 3-Tone mode and my 2nd choice for certain areas is 2-Tone. At times I will also hunt in the Gen or All Metal mode.

My F-75+ is in 3-Tone most of the time and Apex is a 5-Tone design, while my F-19 Ltd. Is only a 2-Tone design.

If your friend out-hunted you when you swapped detectors it must have been quite a surprise to him.
