We all have our favorites Gregg, nothing wrong with that. I like having a go with new things and seeing how I like them. Sometimes out of necessity, sometimes just curiosity. To date, my 800 is still my favorite detector since i started this hobby back in the mid-70's. I've had other really good detectors like the Deus 1 and 2, my Etrac and Explorer and so on.

I'm going to take you up on your Ghost Town challenge with the CoRe - I'm going to set aside my 800 (it will be in the car as an emergency back up), part ways with my very nice D2, (if anybody is looking for a really nice D2 with the 9" coil reach out to me) and go "OregonGregg" with the CoRe and the OOR for all things ghost towny the rest of 2022. At the end of the year, we'll see how a schmuck does with excalibur in his hand.

Trying to program the D2 to perform as well as the Core..............well as they say "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

The only problem is you can't completely imitate the Core, ya don't have a small coil.
