Ok, something I haven't thought about here with the challenge that makes it more difficult for me, and, gives me a greater appreciation for Gregg's year using JUST the CoRe/OOR Combo. He never switched off to a larger coil.

Not sure how he did that, but it's impressive. I ofter use a larger coil to explore about feeling that it increases my odds of getting a coil over a good target in outlying areas.
First day back with my CoRe. I was out today at an old ghost town getting hammered in the nails and corroding tin. Yet, the CoRe still picked out the conductive targets. Using JUST the OOR (I don't have a bigger coil for it, just the 5.2"x4.7") is going to force me to stay in the thick of it and not wander out to fringe areas where targets are few and far between. Well, i'm not technically prevented from doing so, but wandering about in the vast wilderness with a very small coil feels quite ineffective.
As for the CoRe, it took to the trashy area like a duck to water. Didn't miss a beat in the heat and it was HOT. Love the high desert in the summer. 90* +
