If the Legend performs as good as the Multi Kruzer with the 5 x 9 1/2 it will be an incredible machine for high trash and small jewelry hunting. That narrow small footprint handles some pretty tough grounds in my neck of the woods. Separation is very good without sacrificing ground coverage.
9x12 might be better than stock but think it still might be on the heavy side.
Though I am not a fan of the new SMF machines and very happy with my lineup and doing well with them I have to give Nokta credit for listening to their customers and trying to make machines for their needs. How many companies do that these days?
On another note Minelab opened up a lawsuit against Nokta for patent infringements. Carl posted a good explanation on it and seems odd on timing, I can only assume it could be just a strategic move on ML part to delay or disrupt Nokta's success on SMF as they try to roll out variants of the Nox. If that is the case IMO is a pretty poor way of doing business and most likely stock driven.
