I have a really nice Makro Racer 2 (I know, it is a Makro but they are almost barely gone) that works like a champ, as long as the Sensitivity is no higher than '79'. I always set any detector I use at or very close to maximum.

Well, if I increase the Sensitivity to '80' or higher in the All Metal or 2-Tone or Deep mode, I get the loud Overload Audio and the detector doesn't work. Yes, I have tried several search coils on it with no differenced.

So, I have a choice-looking Racer 2 that needs a new circuit board. Cost would be to ship it, pay for the circuit board, and labor charge then return shipping. Or, I could just buy the new circuit board and install it myself. Man-oh-man, it sure isn't like repairs and parts used to be. The do-it-myself Racer 2 Circuit Board is $320!

Oh well, I also have a new 7" Concentric coil coming for it so a pristine Racer 2 that works well makes a nice fit in my detector group instead of one that is glitchy. I know a lot of people use them with Sensitivity at 70 to upper 70's but I'm just a bit different. (In case you haven't figured that out yet. )
