Nokta .. alive. ** Makro .. about gone ** Service ??

In the posts below it was mentioned that aa lot of Nokta and Makro models were short-lived and soon discontinued. True.

My Nokta FORS CoRe I got in January of 201`5, and I got the FORS Relic prototype to work with in January of 2016. Both excellent detectors and little, if any, service problems with them. Both Discontinued 2018.

The Makro original Racer was also introduced in early 2015, and towards they end they did switch over to the more comfortable 'S' rod of the Racer 2, but the Racer was also Discontinued in 2018.

In 2016, along with the Relic, they also introduced the Racer 2 which was a better Racer series unit with a memory and more adjustment features such as a Deep mode, Iron Audio Volume and more. However, there were a number of Racer 2 'glitches'.

I liked the Racer 2 I first received, and for the most part I have enjoyed the several Racer 2's I have acquired since ... except:

• Quite a few of them had an unadjustable control housing installed canted to the left or right, and a few were canted terribly off-center!

• Some worked fine, but others had the Sensitivity issues I described.

• A Lo-Bat issue with new or almost new Alkaline batteries. You might put in fresh batteries and only hunt for an hour or two and then it went dead with a Lo-Bat reading. Had to hike back to the vehicle to put in fresh batteries and sometimes it would red-happen after a short while, and other times it ran like a clock for the full battery life.

However, when you had a good, straight Racer 2 without an issue, they were/are very good performers and it is a model Nokta should have taken care of. Fixed the glitch and give us a solid-performance, land-based detector with user-replaceable AA Alkaline or NiMH batteries and not a sealed-in Lithium.

As for service, I haven't had an issue before, but on this recent attempt. Phone calls were
not quickly answered. However, if you send Andy a text message or an e-mail, I think your response will be quicker. He just took care of tracking down a new 7" Concentric coil for me for a Racer/Racer 2 so that's on-the-way. We are now working to get the Racer 2 circuit board issue resolved, so things are going okay so far.

Just Text or E-Mail Andy for Nokta and Makro service. It might be faster.

As for The Racer 2, those were Discontinued by 2021 with several other detectors, and the ONLY Makro model I see on their website that is still in production is the Gold Kruzer. not sure why since they have their Gold Nugget specific model for the Nokta line, so I would guess the Gold Kruzer will soon be discontinued and that might be the end of the Makro brand. ????
