There is a lot of missed gold jewelry out there.

Smaller sized objects, thin chains, etc. doe add to the difficulty. You didn't mention what settings you normally run. The ferrous/non-ferrous break-point on the Racer 2 is '10' and I keep mine set at '03' almost all the time. It doesn't matter if I am hunting an iron infested ghost towns, coin hunting a local city park, working a private yard or in a beach hunting application.

At '03' I am rejecting some problem iron, but accepting nails and some of the more conductive iron. A setting of '05' will reject just about all common ferrous nails, and those are the two Discrimination settings I use with the Racer 2. Just barely accept them, or just barely reject them. I don't use more rejection than that anywhere I hunt.

I rely on an audio response, might often be using the 3-Tone mode, I keep my Gain high, saved so it turns on at '99' and then I adjust from there ... if necessary. With the Iron Audio Volume feature it makes it comfortable to search in and around ferrous debris with the soft volume from targets below the Ferrous Break-Point setting.

Naturally, the biggest trick is finding the more active sites with more jewelry-wearing people to contribute to your good fortune. Best of success at that.
