Darren, you couldn't be closer to describing near perfection. One of White's all-time finest models ....

... the 6000 Pro XL and renamed/unchanged XL Pro. If I were restricted to owning only three detectors that all had to be from White's, they would be the XLT, a modified Classic ID or IDX Pro, and the wonderful XL Pro. I have a choice and great performing XLT as well as an equally impressive modified Classic ID. The only White's device I am missing is a choice-condition XL Pro. But I am keeping a sharp eye out for just such a unit.

The beauty of the excellent needle meter complemented by one of the best audio responses ever, and ample adjustment functions w/o being too 'busy' and 'cluttered' makes it a wonderful general-purpose detector. When I got my excellent XLT last January it was either that or an equally nice XL Pro, but my 'shopping budget' at the time only allowed me a one-detector option.

You're fortunate to have a real 'keeper' in your detector outfit.thumbs up

Wayfarer, a little added comment about 'Fold-Over' and Signal Balance.

If you have the 6000 Pro XL / XL Pro Instruction Manual, refer to this.

Two very good models you've added, and a wise decision.
