There was a hip-mount or chest-mount Eagle Spectrum that proceeded the XLT, but those with in a larger-0size control housing. Did you see a Jimmy 'Sierra' XLT chest mount? Those were very few and hard to come by. The last time I saw one available was about ten years ago, for a lot of $$$, and it didn't last long. It still wouldn't work well for me but it was something a lot of folks might like.
I picked up this very clean and great-working XLT earlier this year for $395 and found a Blue Max 600 coil that had the monger coil cable. I had the good folks at White's shorten the 6½" coil's cable to a 'normal' short length. Makes a great detector / coil team for trashier or brushier environments and is the only coil I used on the XLT this year.
It was a clean, good-working coil for only $85 and I have long preferred a white-colored coil over a black or brown coil because I can visually 'track' them when working places where I get that coil up under brush and weeds. Today I have white coils on 7 of my detectors and black coils on 5.
I am sure you would have, or still could, enjoy working an XLT in the yards and other places you enjoy detecting. The XLT doesn't require the very brisk sweep speed of earlier similar types and is more of a moderate-sweep requirement.
