I could say it depends....based upon the circumstances. I dont have history in the hobby like many of you, so my options are limited. That said. I like the V3i as i like to tinker and i like to learn. Every passing year i learn more about the tweaks and modulations to get more from the detector. I think i can make it do anything my other detectors can do, and more...except get wet. I tried that once and it didn't work out so well!
