A waterproof-packaged 24K, essentially, but they still need marketing help.

White's isn't alone on this point because I see it happen with some other manufacturers, such as MInelab, etc. White's states this in their website description:

"This machine represents new generation of VLF detection technology, with features that both sourdough and greenhorn prospectors can appreciate.

Starting with the industry-standard 48kHz operating frequency, ..."

They don't have an engineer or savvy editor to note that a VLF detector functions in the 1-to-30 kHz range, and 48 kHz is not a VLF detector but an LF detector up in the LF range?

Jim McCulloch is a very knowledgeable nugget hunter who's been around since the earlier days of Electronic Prospecting, and I'll give White's credit for using a known and respected individual in the nugget hunting world in their marketing ad.

Of course I know there will be times a nugget hunter might want to search down to 10 feet under water, but the vast majority of gold nugget chasers are going to be hunting top-side and I think the 24K would make the much better detector choice. The weight and balance is it its favor, just like the MX-07 is to the MX Sport.

It is also nice to note, and give a tip-of-the-hat to White's, for supplying it with the round 6" Concentric coil trathr than the 6X10 elliptical DD. I know the 6" was available, but wished it was standard on the 24K.

At lease we see sosme movement within so they aren't busy locking the doors just yet. Let's see who might be figuring out future general-purpose detectors for the majority of us in the future? What might come next?

Now, Now ... It's only 3¾ pounds. It's for those who want to get wet.

It takes an engineer, and today that means a 'savvy' engineer.

I always hold out hope for good detector manufacturers to hang in there.

I read White's statement, and noted two errors:
