I always hold out hope for good detector manufacturers to hang in there.

Of the closer ghost towns I enjoy hunting, four of them are gold mining era townsites. They have some potential in the area, but these Eastern Oregon locations were not known for big production, and especially not for bigger-size gold nuggets. I have seen a nice specimen or two, but gold nugget hunting takes on a different set of challenges to deal with the more rugged terrain. Well, this old phart sometimes struggles to move from the TV Room to the Kitchen without stumbling and a fall on occasion. I can't handle those challenging sites like I could in my younger and healthier days, but I'm going to give it a try this year.

I can happily make use of my 19 kHz Nokta Relic or one of my XP ORX devices to do some 'Nugget Hunting', but I have considered checking out the White's 24K and possibly adding a new one to my Detector Outfit. They are more restricted to just gold nugget hunting as they don't have a more normal, functional motion Disc. mode like another LF offering, the Makro Gold Racer. I know what that detector can do, but there are a few things that interest me about the 24K Goldmaster.

I'm down to just 3 new or as-new detectors left to thin out of my arsenal, so maybe I'll consider making a trade for one with an extra search coil? Hummm. Might do that before the snows are gone from those places and we get into spring hunting season.

Now, Now ... It's only 3¾ pounds. It's for those who want to get wet.

It takes an engineer, and today that means a 'savvy' engineer.

A waterproof-packaged 24K, essentially, but they still need marketing help.

I read White's statement, and noted two errors:
