second generation 6000 series 2 and 3 were responsible for the "slowed down sweeping speed",which made a significant difference in performance.these started showing up around '82 '83 and since they were v.l.f could punch really deep too.the analog meters were very accurate.
the 6000 xl pro introduced in '99 was first class show.the amazing meter was incredibly accurate on coins, and because it was a 4 derivative (filter) design was
some kind of deep.it had acceptable trash performance when the 5.3 coil was used.
whitey's m6 was introduced in 2006 to take the place of the xl pro.it was based on the mxt's circuitry.folks say it was the mxt "stuck" in coin mode. fantastic jewelry and coin sniper, and still is.they tried to 'dump" it, and brought out the mx-5 to replace it,but the mx-5 (a good detector) fell flat on it's face, and whites decided to "reintroduce" the m6.with the detectors mentioned, i found a lot of good stuff which i still have locked away in a deposit box.when i "kick" my daughter will get it all.
