My thoughts & experiences with the MXT Pro / All-Pro.

"EL NINO":
It looks like ... Whites MXT ALL Pro is still a super detector ... and one of the best ... Personally, I feel the MXT All Pro (same as the 'Pro' but has an 'ALL' sticker on each side) and the MX-7 are the two best land-based detectors in White's current model offerings. The biggest issue I have with the MXT Pro / All Pro is that it lacks manual GB, and it is way over-priced compared with the current market.

On the coil... 6x8 "SEF demonstrates incredible performance ...is very sensitive - super..deep....- and stable ... On the search coil topic I have to differ with you, but that is simply based on my personal experiences afield, combined with presentations and comparisons I have done with other MXT and MXT Pro owners who had that 6X8 SEF coil at the time.

Keep in mind that most places I hunt there is a lot of very dense debris, especially ferrous-base junk, and I found that some makes and models, the MXT series being one of them, performed much better with a Concentric coil than they did a Double-D coil. I had a lot of different test scenarios I used, including the NBPT since June of '94, and the 6½" Concentric coil (the one White's labeled a 5.3 Eclipse) provided the best handling of Iron Nails and an assortment of other challenges. The 6X8 SEF was very popular at the time on the market, but when it was used side-by-side, the 6½" Concentric was the better of the two.

I did use it for some gold nugget hunting, too, and in several comparisons with other detector and other coils, that MXT Pro/6½" Concentric was still the best-performing team from White's. It was my #1 general-purpose set-up for a few years, until January of 2015 when it and other detector / coil combinations were bested for really challenging conditions.

Still, the MXT Pro and MX-7 are what I feel to represent the best of what White's is currently offering in a land-based detector.

You're definitely continuing the battle to promote White.
