Congratulations Brian, and the reward for the day was well deserved.

August 02, 2020 02:36AM avatar
You'd selected a very good potential location, you were using a very proven detector for handling the environment and conditions, and you set out for the day with a positive attitude. All the ingredients it takes to enjoy some fun and have a successful day.

I started in March of '65 and put in a lot of time detecting and found multiple times the number of coins that you did before I ended up with my first gold coin in the summer of '78. It took me 13 years of detecting before I had a gold coin in my hand. And now, 42 years later, that's still the only gold coin I've come up with, and I've put in a lot of time hunting old-use sites with the potential to find another.

The incuse Indian Head is my favorite gold coin style and that's what mine was, but it was only a $2.50 1913.

Without a doubt you had a day that you will long remember, and I wish I would have been nearby to enjoy the thrill you had with that find. I also wish I was back at that location with you where it would be a lot cooler and more comfortable hunting. I've always enjoyed getting out of the open park area and into any of the overgrowth areas.

Again, congratulations, you're using that modified IDX Pro well, and I wish you the best of success on your next adventure afield.

Monte
