Thank you Monte!

You were my first call back in 2013 when i really started this hobby in earnest. I had a detector in high school in about 1985, but never really learned how to use get the most out of it and didn't have the same passion then. That M6 found my first Walker half and got me hooked. I remember your story of your $2.5 Quarter Eagle, and where you found it...just a very short distance down the road from me. Bet you remember the day vividly.

I wish I'd been around to see the heyday of detecting. While there may not have been a large percentage of gold coins, the silver coins certainly were in abundance. Those are so darn hard to come by in these times. When you look at mintage, the larger denomination gold coins had far more minted, but i imagine they didn't fall out of a pocket as easily, probably were easier to notice if they did, and i imagine were used for large transactions and banking and probably didn't circulate so much in pocket change.

By the way, great word - incuse. I saw the description of what i called embossed in the coin catalog. Don't recall hearing it before or in any other context. Guess in my context, debossed would have worked. Anyway, learned something new today!

And yes, low 80's this week for us. Still warm, manageable.
