Gregg - yeah, i think i got greedy this year.
When i went out in the morning, i said to myself, well let's find a seated half. Then i thought, no - just a silver coin. The place i was at simply didn't have much action before 1900, but while a seated half was 'possible', I really didn't imagine a barber half today. It has been stingy at best with anything silver in around 25 detecting trips there. Only recently have i found any pockets of left over goodies.
Have yet to find a large cent. I'd be as giddy over that as a seated half. Probably harder over here on my side of the state. I have my eye on an old stage stop and original 1850/60's home...if ever the ownership changes or the state buys it up for wetlands. Owners were nice, but a no at this time. Has to be a largie hiding out in there.
Cheers!
Brian
