XL Pro?

August 15, 2021 01:01PM
I saw a Whites XL Pro on a large internet auction site that can go unnamed. I do like to have a look-see from time to time.

This one had a meter face that I have not seen.
Instead of the coin, ring, gold, silver etc. icons that I am used to, it had things like small brass buckle, bullets in various calibers, and big iron at the top of the scale.
The numeric scale was there, as well as the battery check.

I understand it is geared for relic hunters.
Did Whites put such a meter on the XL Pro, or is it a different meter from some other 6000 class model?

Just a curiosity to me. I've owned 3 different copies of this detector, and have seen maybe 6 more in person, but I have not seen this meter on one before.

The prices they are asking for these detectors would put PT Barnum to shame. Then again, $5-6 hunnert dollers in todays dollar value is a LOT less than it was even in 2007, or whenever it was that Whites pulled the plug on them.

Not a different detector or a different meter. Just the little back piece display you could buy and install. N/T

Scott, you're still 'on topic' and bring up interesting points.
