Randy, I forgot about the little 'Ferret' coil. eye rolling smiley

U used to keep one mounted on a modified IDX Pro. They were, and are if you have a working specimen, handy coil to have on-hand. Much handier when the coil maker was in business to repair them, too. Generally they would hold up fairly well, but a fellow offered me a very decent price for that detector and coil set-up and I let it go. The last two I acquired ended up being non-functional and I couldn't find anyone to do a coil repair on them for a reasonable price.

I do keep an eye out for one to show up that I can personally check out before I buy it to be certain it is in proper working order. Too bad they didn't stay around just to offer search coils on an aftermarket basis when their detector business failed. We have a lot of coils made for various brands from Bulgaria and other makers from that region, and they are almost all Double-D designs. Coils like the little Ferret would be nice for other brands or other frequency ranges and offer a different Concentric coil to choose from.

Congratulations to you and those who still have a working specimen in their detector group as they are a handy sized coil. Just a touch bigger than the 5" DD coils that measure closer to 5ΒΌ+" on my Nokta and Makro detectors. I wished back then that they made a Ferret for the White's MXT series.

I don't know why White's has ignored the 9" Concentric.confused smiley
