When using concentric coils, it is amazing how small of a signal a deep coin gives

It takes tight overlapping sweeps to find the deep coins as they have a small 'footprint'. If the coil sweep is off an inch or 2 from center, that can mean a missed coin at depth. This is why you can come back to a previously hunted spot and find more targets. Also if the target is masked by nearby trash, just by coming in at another angle will allow you to hear the target. I'm sure that many people have experienced the 2 way hit and then turned 90 degrees and re sweep the target and it is gone.
